Academic Dishonesty
When learning online, it may be tempting to search the Internet for the answers. While you are encouraged to explore other reputable resources available online, do not copy-paste information in your activities. This is plagiarism and can result in failing the course and/or expulsion from the college. Plagiarism is using someone else's words, thoughts, or ideas and claiming them as your own. Answer all questions according to the assigned materials. Remember, if you can Google it, so can I--and I probably already have.
Online Etiquette
In this course we will engage in online discussions. You are welcome to express your ideas without fear, and in turn should respect the ideas of others. You are free to disagree, but you must do so respectfully. Any unacceptable posts or replies will be deleted and you will not receive credit. Please report any unacceptable behavior to me as soon as possible.
Students with Disabilities
Leeward Community College abides by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, which stipulate that no student shall be denied the benefits of education "solely by reason of a handicap." Students with documented disabilities who believe that they may need accommodations in this class are encouraged to contact the Coordinator of the KAKOʻO ʻIKE (KI) program as soon as possible to ensure that such accommodations are implemented in a timely fashion. The KI office is located in L-208, across from the elevator in the library building or call for information at 455-0421.
